Lam Tang Kung Fu Academy celebrated 30 years of business in the Columbia, South Carolina area at the end of last October. I was awarded a resolution from the South Carolina State Legislature which was a very proud moment. I am very grateful for the gesture. My students trained and practiced hard for this special celebration for over a year. It was a great show.

Slithering Snake of Hasayfu
The other day, a student asked me how it felt to me when I perceived an attack directed toward me. It got me thinking about the Hasayfu animals forms, and we talked a little about direct and indirect response. The merging of the energetic characteristics of Hasayfu provides the architecture for neutralizing or re-directing oncoming force. An example of this is utilizing the Snake Slithering Technique to absorb, re-direct, and return energies.
Snake Slithering Technique is like a spring that can contract as the energy of a response meets the energy of an attack and expands, or dispels energy into the ether and contraction gathers energy to express it as desired. During each stage of the Snake Slithering Technique, energy coils itself from the ground up. It moves up the body from the ankles to the knees, to the waist, to the shoulders, down the arm and to the tips of the fingers. It is a process of construction and destruction that's coordinated with breath, mind, and body.

The Animal Forms
Have you all seen this Five Animal Form video that has been on YouTube? It has been around for a good while.
You will also find it on our own Hasayfu.com. It's on the home page set to music written just for us by Tim Farley, performed by Tim Farley and Greg Elstad, one of our Hasayfu students.
